So today I went on a run, at long last. Up over the hill and back again towards Chewacla. I wanted to head all the way down, but after such a prolonged hiatus, I figured it better to keep it short and sweet.

Where have I been?
Not running, sad to admit. Even though I just graduated and should theoretically have had more for running and exercising, it hasn't happened. I did have another bronchial infection which kept me off the road. Other than that, I've been fairly lazy. And to be honest, my diet hasn't been great. I haven't been able to eat as much salad as I would like because of my teeth.
I have been biking a bit. Not enough to fill the void.
Today I decided to go on a bike ride. A decent one, about 48 minutes. I listened to The Indestructible Beat of Soweto.

Running with Ba
So this is my Dad, who is an inspiration to me. He ran cross-country in high school and at the Naval Academy. He's been a regular jogger since the mid-70's, before it was cool. Ran the Boston Marathon for the first time in his late 50's. So pretty much as long as I can remember, he's been getting out in the muggy summer or deep snows to get a few miles in. This was one of the first times I've really gone jogging with him.
Time out, yesterday 28:15 (Woodfield and back)

Washington Park
So I'm in Portland, OR, where I used to live many moons ago. I'm here for a meeting and staying on my friend Dave's couch for a few days. He lives in NW Portland, not too far from Washington Park. So I ran up there. The hills are much bigger here than they are in Auburn, so they kind of well, kicked my a$$. But I did get some nice views. Washington Park is where the Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens and lots of other PDX attractions. That's where the two pictures below are from.
